Growing and strengthening the Catholic faith in the Community we serve.

Societies & Clubs

Athletics

The Shepherd of the Hills Athletic Program serves as an extension of the formation of young people in the parish.  The goal of parish athletics is first and foremost to instill a spirit of Christian sportsmanship and values within our students.  Parish athletics also provide an opportunity to build Christian community and to develop the athletic talents of our students.  An Athletic Board assists in policy making and the administration of parish athletics.

The parish athletic program provides girls volleyball (grades 5 - 8), girls basketball (grades 3 - 8), and boys basketball (grades 3 - 8).  There is also a high school age boy’s basketball team (grades 9 – 12).  Parishioners and parents serve as coaches, assistants, and volunteers as part of the athletic program.

Christian Women Society

The Christian Women Society consists of all the female members of the parish after high school graduation.  The society provides opportunities for spiritual growth, socialization, and service within the parish and community.  The Christian Women sponsor various activities including a Lenten morning of reflection, an annual Christmas party, secret pal, church cleaning, fundraisers, etc.

The Christian Women have a number of subcommittees including the Funeral Committee which prepares and serves funeral luncheons and the Welcoming Committee which coordinates the formal welcoming of new parishioners and new born babies into the parish.

The Christian Women also sponsor the Kettle Quilters who meet on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Hall in Mitchell.  The quilters work together to make quilts that are donated to the needy, the missions, and to raffles.

Activities and meetings of the Christian Women Society are published in the bulletin.

Rosary Clubs

Shepherd of the Hills Parish is devoted to the prayer of the rosary and is blessed to have two Rosary Clubs.  These clubs make rosaries and distribute them free of charge to the missions, our school and religious education program, and anyone requesting a rosary.  The clubs meet as needed.

Schoenstatt Mothers Group

The Schoenstatt Mothers Group meets the second Monday of each month in the Hospitality Room from 1:00 - 2:30 PM.  This group of mothers is led by a group leader from the Schoenstatt Center in Waukesha.  Sessions include prayer, spiritual instruction, reading, and group dialogue.  Schoenstatt, meaning “beautiful place”, is a Marian based group relying on the Blessed Mother to bring us closer to her son, Jesus.  Childcare can be provided upon request.  Please call the parish office with questions or requests and they can direct you to the person setting up the meetings.
