Fundraisers

Big Money Raffle

Shepherd of the Hills Parish sponsors an annual Big Money Raffle. This raffle is the most important third-source fundraiser for the parish. Raffle tickets sell for $50/ticket or 3 tickets/$100. The grand prize of the raffle is $10,000 and there are a variety of other monetary prizes as well. Sale of raffle tickets begins in June, with winning tickets being drawn in October. Parishioners are asked to purchase raffle tickets and to also sell raffle tickets to family members, friends, and co-workers. The participation of all members of the parish in the Big Money Raffle helps make the raffle an annual success.

Dinner Auction Gala

The Shepherd of the Hills annual Dinner Auction Gala, a themed school fundraiser featuring silent and live auction items and a catered dinner, is held in February.

Dollars for Scholars - Steak Fry

Held in conjunction with a Back to School Mass in early September, the Dollars for Scholars Steak Fry proceeds go towards tuition assistance at Shepherd of the Hills school. The delicious meal consists of Eden Meat Market ribeye (grilled to your liking), or grilled chicken breast, topped with Gourmet Delight mushrooms, a baked potato, salad, a dinner roll, and homemade dessert.

Faris Popcorn Sale

Religious Education families participate in the Faris Popcorn Fundraiser as one of our primary fundraising efforts. Popcorn pre-orders are typically collected in October and delivered to our Religious Education family sellers in early November for distribution.

Proceeds from this fundraiser help offset the costs of our Religious Education program, including curriculum materials, sacramental preparation resources, classroom supplies, special events, and building use costs. We are grateful for the generous support of our families and parish community in making this fundraiser a continued success each year.

Mission Sunday Weekend

An annual fundraiser for the youth of Shepherd of the Hills who travel on a Mission Trip over the Summer. Mission Sunday, commonly in the Spring, can come in many creative forms: Mass Appeals, second collections, or (more recently) a “bus” Campaign. Teens cut bus prints out with dollar amounts on them. These bus prints are hung in the back of the church for 1-2 weekends, where parishioners can take a bus print of a select amount they are willing to donate. Donations are returned (with their bus print) via mail, collections, or in person to the parish office. All donors who share their home address are sent a photo and a thank you from the trip.

Restaurant Share Night for Mission Trip

Each year, our youth participate in two restaurant fundraiser events to help offset mission trip expenses. These events are typically held once in the fall and once in the spring, allowing our teens to engage with and serve the greater community. During each fundraiser, a local restaurant partners with us by donating a designated percentage of sales generated within a specific three-hour time frame. Our teens help promote the event and are present that evening to welcome guests and show appreciation for community support. Past host locations have included local establishments such as Culver’s and Red Cabin at Green Acres.
